Blood Diamond starring Leonardo Dicaprio this movie's storyline is gd... u guys gotta watch this if u hav the chance... u would change ur mind bout havin diamonds when u watched this movie... Set against the backdrop of the chaos and civil war that enveloped 1990s Sierra Leone, "Blood Diamond" is the story of Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio), an ex-mercenary from Zimbabwe, and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou), a Mende fisherman. Both men are African, but their histories and their circumstances are as different as any can be until their fates become joined in a common quest to recover a rare pink diamond, the kind of stone that can transform a life…or end it. Solomon, who has been taken from his family and forced to work in the diamond fields, finds the extraordinary gem and hides it at great risk, knowing if he is discovered, he will be killed instantly. But he also knows the diamond could not only provide the means to save his wife and daughters from a life as refugees but also help rescue his son, Dia, from an even worse fate as a child soldier. Archer, who has made his living trading diamonds for arms, learns of Solomon's hidden stone while in prison for smuggling. He knows a diamond like this is a once-in-a-lifetime find—valuable enough to be his ticket out of Africa and away from the cycle of violence and corruption in which he has been a willing player. Enter Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly), an idealistic American journalist who is in Sierra Leone to uncover the truth behind conflict diamonds, exposing the complicity of diamond industry leaders who have chosen profits over principles. Maddy seeks out Archer as a source for her article, but soon finds it is he who needs her even more. With Maddy's help, Archer and Solomon embark on a dangerous trek through rebel territory. Archer needs Solomon to find and recover the valuable pink diamond, but Solomon seeks something far more precious…his son. there, u guys hav to find out the rest of the story urself =D it's really nice la... i watched it with darl, he said it's nice too... but the story's quite sad... ppl in africa kill each other for diamonds... yet the diamonds we bought r the diamonds they kill their own ppl for, in return for cash & their life... Gridiron Gang starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson a true-based story It begins as an idea born out of frustration. Perplexed and appalled by the alarmingly rate of recidivism (as high as 75 percent) among his troubled young charges at Camp Kilpatrick, probation officer Sean Porter (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and his colleague Malcolm Moore (Xzibit) are desperately looking for a way to lift these young men out of the desperate circumstances that landed them at the maximum security juvenile compound. Most have been convicted of crimes within their communities in and around Los Angeles, and are now forced to live together in an atmosphere of mutual distrust and outright hatred. The multi-racial group's forced truce often explodes into violence. Camp Kilpatrick is seen by the judicial system as a last chance for these youths before incarceration in California Youth Authority, where they will experience the horrors of adult life in lockup. Getting these wards of the county to care about themselves and their lives has been a thankless task for even the most dedicated counselors like Porter and Moore. Too many of the young men in their care have gone back out into the world only to end up in prison or, far too often, meet a violent end before they can reach adulthood. As a teenager, Porter overcame his own personal problems to become a firstrate high-school football player. He wonders if the lessons he learned through discipline and team spirit could be applied to these young men and help them overcome the hopelessness they feel. He and Moore cobble together a team, the Camp Kilpatrick Mustangs, from among the residents of the facility, some of whom are eager to play, and others who are resistant. Porter's plan is met with immediate skepticism from camp director Paul Higa (Leon Rippy) and his assistant, Dexter (Kevin Dunn), as well as from football coaches at the surrounding high schools who are opposed to hosting convicted felons on their playing fields. The prospective team members share a distressingly similar upbringing, marked by abuse, chronic poverty and gang warfare. Willie (Jade Yorker), an African-American, recently lost a family member to gang violence. Kenny (Trever O'Brien), a Caucasian, came from a broken home. And 17-year-old Junior (Setu Taase), a young man from Samoa, has already fathered a two-year-old boy. Porter and Moore strive diligently to gain the trust of the team members. Slowly, through their unstinting dedication, the young men start to overcome their petty differences and commit to regular football practice, despite a myriad of factors, including the fact that the camp field is little more than a rock-strewn pasture, that there is no money for equipment, that practice often conflicts with their school classes and brings down the enmity of the other inmates who are not part of the team, which ignites violent outbursts landing key players in solitary confinement for days at a time. Nonetheless, some of the team members begin to demonstrate special abilities. Willie has a gift for running the football. Calvin (David Thomas) has the ability to tackle any runner — especially Willie, since they come from warring gangs in South Central L.A. Madlock (James Earl III) is a natural lineman, while Kenny has the good hands of a receiver. Others like Bug (Brandon Mychal Smith) and Evans (Jamal Mixon) are to lend their support as team managers. As the team progresses through drills on the hot and dusty makeshift gridiron, there are setbacks to be sure. Junior is seriously injured and the loss of his leadership is deeply felt. Willie and Calvin continue to scrap and wind up in solitary confinement. Even Coach Porter suffers a serious loss after his mother's health spirals irreversibly downward. Porter and Moore finally break through, however, and manage to convince one high school coach after another to play them. When the Camp Kilpatrick Mustangs prove themselves to be worthy adversaries, they earn enough trust to be allowed to travel beyond the locked gates of their Santa Monica Mountains prison. Through a season that tests their minds and bodies, the players learn self-respect and respect for each other. With that comes the realization that their lives are not hopeless and desperate, that if they can reach the regional championship game, it may only be the first of many accomplishments about which they can dare to dream. dun go off after the movie ends... there's more =) the real characters of the story today is a great day =) went out with darl & we din quarrel one bit =D luv him so much muackz workin tomolo... gah! my feet, my toes! bought new workin shoes... very uncomfortable... wore till blisters r formed... it's always like tat with new shoes... sad! by the time i ended work, i'm limpin already... wasn't a gd workin day ytd... bah~ zan went for a singing audition... =) hope she could get in... but i admired her courage, jiayou ba! if u got in, dun be too happy, keep up the gd work... but if u dun, dun be demoralised... there's always a next time =D we'll be supportin u... if u get in to top 24, i promise i call in to vote for u 10 times ;) note: it's not a sarcarstic remark! longin for chinese new yr to come... wanted to work on chu yi... my mum said it was ok, even if we dun hav reunion dinner... but how can... my dad sure won b happy... & i won feel rite... but double pay... haiz... i guess i hav to giv up tat double pay... it's not tat much also... 'grrr! but it's tat much to me...' i haven buy my new yr clothes... lol |

i've realised tat i'm startin to become someone even me myself don't know... wat hav i become... ?!?!but no matter wat, definitely not a monster... RAWR! i'm standin on the tip of the plank, which stretched all the way out frm the ship... & below me r sharks in the sea, havin their jaws wide open, rdy to hav their nice snack... & i hav 'money' with sharp pointed swords threatenin to push me overboard... & yes! i'm still on the prob of financial crisis... but i'll always tell myself this... for money, i dun care even if i worked the hell out of myself... LOL! i find myself rather stupid to argue with carol over sth so not worth arguin for... feel like slammin my face to the wall... gah!but i'm too shy to say sry... lol... maybe feelin guilty... bah~ i hereby apologise to zan for my harsh behaviour & words tat other day... i jus dun feel rite... not apologisin & live life over it... like escapin reality with a not so clear conscience... lol! like a hit & run situation... u wouldn't lead a happy life... i'm complainin too much these days... losin grip of myself... rawr! wished someone would jus smack my face & tell me to wake up... i'm startin to criticise, makin a nuisance of myself, gossip... gah! i'm like a devil sent up frm hell to hurt ppl delibrately... y sia... i'm supposed to be an angel sent down frm heaven by god to make ppl happy... lol... i'm supposed to be a gd gerl... results out by 9th feb... bah! can i be absent on tat day... cos i jus hav this feelin tat it's alrite even if i dun go... the results will b like shit... wouldn't hav the face to go hm if my points r above 30... i mite as well jump down & die... lol! choy! touch wood!i'll get to university! tat's my childhood dream ok... lol dun laugh!!!! anything's possible >=/ |

IT"S A NEW YR! hmmm recently jus came back frm my family trip to shanghai & frm genting trip with my pals... =) it was totally awesome in shanghai ! cool cold breeze every single day i'm there... beautiful sceneries tat u wouldn't be able to c here in singapore ^-^ went to suzhou, hangzhou, nanjing, wuxi... learnt quite alot of chinese history... i simply adore those china babies... they look so much like dolls with their pinkish chubby cheeks... lol! themepark is my favorite always... luv thrillin rides so much, tried the so called 'suicide fall'... lol tat's the name nic calls it... so fun... lucky darl's daring =D if not also not fun le... fun time is always doesn't last long... haiz... now workin the hell out of myself... finally today i feel like updatin my blog... it's been ages since i start typin lol... my legs r always killin me when i work for long hrs... everyday work frm morn till midnight... gosh! u may think i'm crazy lol but for money, i will jiayou! i'm super sway this few days... example ytd nite, worked till 1am... in the end the bus was full... hav to take taxi hm... gah~ nvm... i hav the money to pay for the fare first... yet i forgot to ask for the receipt... haiz... cnt claim back my money... fuk la... $30 sia... then i left my shoebag with my workin shoes inside at the security... really feel like smackin my face... maybe slammin my head to the wall will help... grrr~ how can i get rid of my pimples in the shortest possible time without spendin any money... i'm in a pimples outbreak... haiz... sad~ |
